Three stackable mechanisms to reduce your childcare cost
CMG — Childcare supplement (Complément de libre choix du Mode de Garde)
The CMG is paid by the CAF directly to the approved employer — i.e. Bloom Buddies — to reduce your monthly invoice. The amount depends on your income, number of children and care hours. It applies for children under 6 cared for more than 16h/month.

As an approved organisation (art. 199 sexdecies of the French Tax Code), Bloom Buddies entitles you to a 50% tax credit on all amounts spent. This applies regardless of your child's age, up to a limit of €12,000/year per household.

How does the CAF's CMG work for bilingual childcare?
The CMG (Childcare supplement) is paid by the CAF directly to the approved employer — i.e. Bloom Buddies — to reduce your monthly invoice. The amount depends on your income, number of children and hours of care. It applies for children under 6 cared for more than 16h/month at home. Bloom Buddies handles all the administrative procedures on your behalf.
Does the tax credit also apply for an English-speaking nanny?
Yes, without restriction. The 50% tax credit applies to all care provided by an approved organisation, regardless of the nanny's profile. The fact that she is a native English speaker makes no difference to your entitlements. The limit is €12,000 of expenses per year per household (i.e. a maximum credit of €6,000). We provide you with the annual tax certificate each year.
What is the immediate tax credit advance?
Since January 2022, you can benefit from the immediate advance: instead of paying 100% of the invoice and waiting for reimbursement at tax return time, you only pay 50% directly each month. The tax authorities settle the other half in real time. To activate this, you need to enable the service on your personal impots.gouv.fr account.
